How We'll Work Together
Every project at Venture Words follows a clear, proven process—but the depth and focus shift based on what you need. Here's what to expect, step by step.
Discovery Call
Are we a fit?
We'll start with a short initial call where I'll ask about your business, your project, your timeline, and what you're hoping this copy will accomplish. You can ask me anything you'd like.

If it sounds like we're a good match, we'll move forward. If not, I'll tell you honestly and point you in a better direction if I can.
Timeline: 30- 45 minutes
1
Research & Strategy
Before any writing happens, I need to understand your business, your buyers, and what's actually going to move the needle.

This includes reviewing existing materials, conducting internal discovery with your team, analyzing competitor messaging, and gathering customer insights wherever possible—mining reviews, support tickets, sales conversations, or interview notes for the language your buyers actually use.

Once research is complete, I'll create a strategic blueprint for how the copy will flow and what it needs to accomplish.

2
Writing & First Draft
Where the work happens
With research and strategy locked in, I write the first draft.
Every piece of copy is built around one clear reader, one core message, and one primary action. The focus is on clarity, momentum, and persuasion not clever wordplay that confuses people.

You'll receive complete copy in a format that works for your project, whether that's page-by-page website copy with wireframes, a full email sequence, or a polished case study or white paper.
4
Feedback & Refinement
Making it even better
No first draft is perfect. This is where we refine.
You'll have the chance to provide feedback—whether that's correcting details, adjusting tone, or clarifying messaging. I'll also flag anything that might need more explanation or context from your side.

Most projects include two rounds of revisions, which is typically enough to get everything exactly where it needs to be. The goal isn't endless back-and-forth. It's confident sign-off on copy that's accurate, on-brand, and ready to perform.

Final Delivery
Packaged and ready to go
Once revisions are complete, you'll receive final files in the format that works best for your team, whether that's Google Docs, psd wireframes, or PDFs.

Everything is organized, clearly labeled, and easy to hand off to your design, development, or marketing team.
What Happens After Launch?
You're not on your own
For larger projects like websites and landing pages, I'm available for post-launch support—final proofreading once everything goes live, minor copy tweaks if something doesn't read quite right in context within 30 days to address any issues.

For ongoing needs like additional assets or email campaigns, we can discuss a retainer or new project arrangement.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
The process adapts to your project
A single landing page follows a lighter version of this process than a full website rebuild. A case study requires different research than a white paper. The steps stay consistent, but the depth and timeline adjust based on the type and scope of work. I'll walk you through what to expect for your specific project before we begin.
Project timelines vary
A landing page might take 2-3 weeks start to finish. A full website could take 6-8 weeks or more. An email sequence might take 3-4 weeks. I'll give you a realistic timeline upfront so you can plan accordingly.
Payment structure
Projects begin with a 50% deposit after signing the contract. This secures your spot in my calendar and allows us to start the research and strategy work. The remaining 50% is due at the start of the feedback and refinement stage, before final files are delivered.
I manage the process
You won't need to chase me down for updates or wonder where things stand. I'll keep you in the loop at every stage, flag any roadblocks early, and make sure we stay on track.
Collaboration is key
The best work happens when we're both invested. I'll bring the strategy, research, and copywriting expertise. You bring the deep knowledge of your business, industry, and customers. Together, we'll create something that works.
